What is the German Emirates Club?
The German Emirates Club is the UAE-based national club of the German World Club and was founded in 2006 with the mission of creating a social, cultural and economic forum to serve the German-speaking community living in the UAE.
Today, through our club members, we reach almost 85% of German-speaking households living in the Emirates as well as around 1,200 German, Austrian and Swiss companies - mostly with a regional head office or representative office in the UAE.
It is a need and a matter close to our hearts to connect and support the German-speaking society as well as industry and commerce in the country. This is at the heart of our actions, and all the threads converge with us.
Your tasks as our Full Stack Programmer (m/f)
- Update and enhance website components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Improve and maintain the admin portal using PHP and MariaDB.
- Optimize and update applications built with React and Vue frameworks.
- Update and maintain mobile applications developed in React Native.
- Ensure the stability and functionality of back-end systems built on Node.js.
- Manage and support AWS services.
- Maintain and integrate payment gateways, SMS, and email systems.
- Debug, deploy, and maintain systems in a Linux environment.
- Conduct thorough testing to ensure the reliability and performance of all applications.
Jan A. Hussing is the brain child and CEO of the German Emirates Club, founded in 2005.
He spent his childhood in Hamburg, Germany and after completing his economics studies, took on management positions at DaimlerChrysler and ING, among others, in Germany, England, USA and South Africa. At the end of 2005, he moved to Dubai and was a board member at the Dubai Islamic Bank, as well as responsible for some of the bank's associated subsidiaries. He has been President of the German World Club since 2009.
The German Emirates Club also offers online forums for recommendations and information, do's and don'ts, as well as an online marketplace where members can post offers or place search ads, e.g. for jobs, vehicles, real estate or household items, etc.
The different ClubCouncils (Medical, Education, Business, Legal, Family and Culture) form the editorial framework of the club.
Today, the German Emirates Club is the center point for the German-speaking society in the United Arab Emirates.
Since its founding, the German Emirates Club has organized more than 1,100 events for the German-speaking community in the United Arab Emirates.
The focus is on social, cultural, business and sporting events, ranging from the German Annual Forum, Get-Togethers, Business Brunches, German Parties, Family Brunches, Ladies' Beauty Events, The Ocean Balls, Carnivals to Football World Cup Viewings as well as the legendary Oktoberfests, among others.
